Products

Q:  Are all your products made in USA? 
A: Yes! We own a small workshop in Pennsylvania & employ local craftsmen and women to create a wide variety of products. We use US Steel, and wherever possible, we buy our other materials & tools locally also.

Q: Can you make a product from my drawing? 
A: Usually we can. You can scan & email or fax/ mail your drawings to us and we'll let you know if we can make it.

Q: Can you make this in a different size? 
A: In most cases, absolutely! We are happy to create a size or design for you. Costs may vary for larger pieces or special materials but we aim to keep costs realistic!

Q: How do I refine my product search? 
A: At the top of every page, there are boxes "Theme", "Product Category" and "Area of the Home". To help your search you can use one, two or all three of these dropdown boxes.

For example, if you want to search for a Cat Key Rack, but don't want to look through all the cat products or all the key racks, you can:
- click "Theme" and select Cat
- click "Product Category and select Key Racks
- click search

The search list should only include Cat Key Racks.

Q: Can you paint my item a different color? 
A: With so many product variations, adding different colors too is just not possible so we follow the Model T Ford policy: "Any color as long as it's black!" But feel free to paint your item any color you like when you get it!

Order questions

Q: When will my item ship? 
A: If the product page states an item is in stock, it will usually ship with 1-2 business days. When not in stock, they are made to order and the time to make the item will be listed on the product page.
Carrier delivery times will vary based on the shipping method you selected.

Q: How can I pay? 
A: We accept all major credit cards, Paypal and payment by mail (do not send cash!)

For credit card and Paypal payments, our corporate business name is The Metal Peddler, Inc. Your statement will therefore show the name "The Metal Peddler" or "paypal*TheMetalPeddler".

Q: I can't checkout! Whenever I click checkout, it takes me back to payment page

If you are trying to checkout but your payment won't go through, try some of the following:

Some error codes:

10504: Check your card's security code. That's either the last 3 numbers on the back of your card, or for AmEx, it's 4 digits printed on the card.

10505: Is your billing address correct? This is the address associated with your credit card.

10508: The expiration date must be a two-digit month and four-digit year. Example, 01 2014

10527: Check the full number on your card. Most cards have 16 digits. Amex has 15. Don't use dashes or spaces

If you do not get an error code, check some of the most common problems:

Middle initial: If your credit card shows a middle initial, you need to include it on our form.

Billing address: That's the address your credit card statement goes to. We won't write to it, but it verifies that the credit card has not been stolen etc.

Zip code: 5 digits only.

Other details: Check spelling of your address. Check email spelling if you are paying by Paypal.

Q: Charity donations 
A: We are committed to supporting a local animal sanctuary, Skye’s Spirit Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, located in Western Pennsylvania. With our large portfolio of animal themed products, we receive donation requests almost on a weekly basis from various shelters & non-profits. As much as we would love to help all of them, we are just unable to donate to everyone.
